So, who the check am I?

My name is Lyra and I’m 20. I’m a first year computer science student and an art history enthusiast. I suppose you could say I’m a child of both STEM and the humanities.

I used to really enjoy drawing when I was younger, although that love slowly subsided when I was 16 and was instead replaced with a love of writing.

When I was 18 I decided to see if programming had any kick… it did. Although, throughout the years I’ve picked it up and dropped it, switching languages with reckless abandon. Although, it did seem like the “safest” of my interests to study career wise.

Some fun facts about me:

• I've never seen or read Harry Potter (nor do I ever intend to.)
• I speak 2 languages: Spanish and English.
• I despise the taste of alcohol, black coffee, and the smell of cigarettes.
• I had a phase when I was 16 when I really wanted to own a hamster.
• The first video game I ever played was “Crash Bandicoot” when I was 6.
• I've read “The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak 6 times. It's also my favorite book.
• My favorite color is green.
